Diploma in Operations Management With an Elective in Warehouse Management

Operations Management is considered one of South Africa�s top scarce skills. The function relates to the administration of business practices in an organization in order to create the highest level of efficiency possible; and is concerned with the process of converting materials and labour into goods and services as efficiently as possible in order to maximise profit for the organisation. These roles are further developed into supply and distribution management, purchasing & logistics as well having the ability to design and implement and effective operations strategy to enhance business efficiency.

The skills developed in this diploma aim to equip the student to create and deliver an organisation�s goods or services effectively and to fix the areas that are deemed inefficient such as the under capitalising of resources and the over-use of staff working overtime, on-time delivery issues and inventory build-up.

Duration

The programme duration is 3 years on a full-time basis, or 4 years on a part-time basis.

Certification

On successful completion of the programme, you will receive an ICESA Diploma in Operations Management.

Admission Requirements

• A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Diploma endorsement, or
• A National Certificate Vocational (NCV) at NQF Level 4 with Diploma endorsement, or
• Amended Senior Certificate (ASC), with Diploma endorsement, or
• A Senior Certificate (SC); or
• Foreign School leaving Certificate that complies with minimum admission requirements for Diploma study as gazetted by the Matriculation Board (Equivalency evaluation is completed with the Matriculation Board)

Alternative admission requirements

• Senate discretionary admission
• Mature Age (45 years of age and above): Conditions apply
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Additional requirements

• Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy and English at NQF level 4 or equivalent
• Foreign applicants whose first language is not English, may be required to provide proof of proficiency in English prior to admission to the programme

ICESA may require appropriate combinations of subjects and levels of achievement for certain qualifications.
