The National Certificate: Information Technology: System Support is designed to develop learners’ skills in installation, update, and support of end users in an organisation. Learner’s will also be able to administer servers, microcomputers, Local Area Networks (LANs/WLANs) and software applications. Learner will be able to provide technical assistance for hardware and software operations as well as analyse, support and coordinate requests for computer system services.

Duration

The programme duration is 1 year on a full-time basis.

Certification

  • Upon successful completion of the whole programme, i.e. competence achieved in the summative assessments, the successful completion of the WIL component, and provided the learners PoE is found competent, the learner will receive a Damelin Results Letter outlining the unit standards covered.
  • Damelin will apply to MICT SETA on the learners behalf for the National Certificate: Information Technology: Systems Support, SAQA ID 48573, NQF level 5 to be awarded.
  • Upon successful completion of the optional external examinations, the learner will receive MCSA and CompTIA Certification at the learners own cost.

Admission Requirements

  • Foundational skills in English and Mathematics at NQF level 4/Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Ability to use a personal computer competently
